Welcome!
Very soon (April 5th) we will be departing O'Hare airport for London...then on to Nairobi, Kenya where we will visit Solid Rock Church in Nakuru and host their youth and ministry training conference, followed by safari in the Lake Nakuru region of the Great Rift Valley. We will arrive in Africa on April 6th. Be sure to check back often throughout the trip for daily updates and photos...Kenya, here we come!

We are waiting to hear you have landed somewhere. Pray all is well.
ReplyDeleteUnder His Wings Is waiting to hear from you that you landed safely.
ReplyDeleteSeeing as how it's almost 9 o'clock at night over there at the moment, and we don't know what kind of schedule they have planned for updates (morning or evening) we could be in for a bit of a wait here...
ReplyDeleteTo see what the time is in Kenya along with some weather information try this page: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=170
It's Nairobi, not Nakuru but it should still be accurate enough for the most part for our purposes.
I hope they get enough rest and are ready to do the work God has planned for them in Africa.

We made it
Well we made it last night to our first night in Nairobi. Stayed in the christian guest house...which was about what it sounds like. It actually wasn't that bad if you didn't need to plug anything in or have hot water.
Either way we made safely here after about 24 hours of travelling. Which funny enough is as long as it sounds.
Well my phone is goin to die (see part about no power) so ill post somethin later after we make it to nakuru...hopefully!!!

Yeah! You all made it safely! Can't wait to hear more. Give Matt and Alexa a big hug from me!
ReplyDeletejust got an email from Susan - they have arrived at the hotel. They have free internet access at the hotel. She says it is quite a humbling experience to see all the poverty. They've also seen zebras and baboons on the roadside while traveling. Today's agenda calls for shopping to prepare for the journey ahead.
ReplyDeleteFYI - you can install "widgets" on your computer desktop to see the Time and Weather conditions in Nakuru.
Glad to hear that all is well! We pray for your strength for this great journey. Ps. 37:23 says "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way." We thank you Lord that there steps have been ordered by you and that each step that they take they will be known by there Love.Love for you and for the African people. In Jesus name, Amen

Nakuru
Made it to nakuru this morning. We took about a three hour dive from niarobi to the city where we will spend the rest of our time. It was an amazing drive...we went through the great rift valley which runs all through africa. On the way we were able to snap lots of pictures of the landscape, wild bores, baboons and zebras. It was almost like a mini safari. Either way the weather was awesome (mid 70s)...that would havebeen enough for me.
We head to the church tomorrow for the first time...so ill put up another post then!
